Armenia

Hi everyone,

My real travel goal this summer was to meet my friend Eileen in Armenia ! Do you know where Armenia is ? It is next to Iran, Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Georgia. I'm so glad I got to travel to Yerevan, Armenia and also Gyumri, Armenia. It was interesting to see how different the buildings are and the way the written language of Armenian looks is so different. I stayed in very beautiful hotels there and the food was delicious. We visited many old churches and we also drove to Tbilisi, Georgia. We needed to show our passports when we crossed into Georgia. One of my favorite experiences in Yerevan was walking into a children's music school and hearing some young boys practicing clarinet. We talked to one boy's father, who is a professional musician and plays clarinet with the national symphony in Yerevan and he told us he was playing the next night at the national ballet of Armenia ! So, we got tickets and went to the ballet ! That was an amazing experience. The dancers were so talented and beautiful to watch. After the performance, we also met the conductor. Both our new friend, the clarinet player and the conductor let us take photos with them. I felt so honored to be there and to learn about an important Armenian composer named Aram Khachaturian. We saw a performance of his work: Masquerade. It was beautiful music and beautiful dancing by the national ballet in Armenia.
